pETER hASTINGS
BVMS MRCVS
Peter was brought up on a farm and graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 1997. He now specialises in cattle fertility and lameness.
Alistair Padkin
BVMS MRCVS
Alistair was raised on a Lanarkshire dairy farm before starting with Nithsdale Vets in 2004. He has particular interests in dairy fertility and calf rearing but enjoys all aspects of farm vetting. He has recently installed two robots to milk his Pedigree jersey herd and also has Beltex sheep, both of which he enjoys showing. At home he has 3 boys with his wife, Wendy, which between the farm, rugby and football keep them both fully occupied.
Iain Hastings
BVMS MRCVS
Iain grew up on a local dairy farm and graduated from Glasgow University in 1997. He joined us in 2005 after working in Cheshire. Iain enjoys all aspects of large animal surgery.
Sarah Matthews
BVM&S MRCVS
Sarah has been with us since 2012 after graduating from Edinburgh Vet School. She has always been drawn to large animal work so is a great fit for our team.

Jane Russell
Practice Manager
Jane is a dairy farmer’s daughter and has been with us for 10 years, she takes care of all of the day to day running of the practice. Outside of work Jane is kept busy with her family but always has time for gin!
Stephanie Wells
Reception
Stephanie has been with us for 4 years, you will find her in reception answering phones and in the dispensary. Pink is her signature colour and she enjoys reading and socialising.
Claire McMeeken
Reception
Claire has recently joined us in reception and works with us in the afternoon as in the morning she helps on her brother’s beef farm. Outside of work you’ll find Claire exercising or walking her dogs in the local area followed by a cider.
Aileen Struthers
Reception
Aileen is from a local dairy farm and runs our Ayrshire branch. She loves her pedigree dairy cattle and in particular the Ayrshires, she also has her own blue texel and badger face flocks

Daniel Henderson
Vet Tech
Daniel heads up our Vet Tech service. He is a dairy farmer's son who is happy to help with all of your foot trimming needs and is available for other services including vaccination and disbudding.
Stuart Williams
Vet tech
Having worked for years on a local dairy farm Stuart joined us in 2020. He has a passion for lame cows and enjoys disbudding. In his spare time you will find him relaxing by coarse fishing.
